2010 Trinity Valley Exposition
Scholarship Application Regulations
In 1983 the Trinity Valley Exposition presented it first scholarship to Chris Owens from Tarkington High School in the amount of $2500. In 1992 the amount was raised to $5000. With tremendous cost of attending college today, the chance to obtain a college degree is only a dream for many youth. Yet the TVE often helps fulfilling that dream by offering financial educational assistance through its scholarship program. As of 2009, TVE has helped give 129 students a chance to go the college of their choice with over $369,000. This year, TVE has set aside money to be awarded in May.
Recipients should be members of either a 4-H or FFA club/chapters within Liberty or Chambers Counties and have competed in the any TVE competition listed below. The applicants can attend any accredited Texas University, College, or Technical School. Selection of the scholarship recipient will be based on academic achievement, leadership, citizenship and need.
The TVE Board of Directors will make final approval of each scholarship recipient. The applications are kept on file in the TVE office for one year. If for any reason the recipient leaves school the scholarship will cease. Notification must be made to the TVE or FLNB Trust Dept if a student transfers from one school to another to avoid termination of the scholarship.
Evaluation of scholarship applications and the subsequent ranking of applications shall be the sole responsibility of a designated committee, independent of the show. The Board of Directors of the TVE or their appropriate designee must approve the selections submitted by the committee.
