Welcome 2025 TVE Youth Rodeo Contestant,
As the weekend is quickly approaching, we wanted to take a few minutes to give you some additional important information.
Attached to this email is an aerial photo that will give you a better idea of where to park as well as where check in will be.
There is a draw sheet posted on the wall nearest the announcers stand but you will also receive a copy in your child’s check in packet.
There will be a concession stand on site as well as shopping vendors.
Dress Code
- Western Attire is required when competing.
- Long Sleeved shirt tucked in, rolled down and buttoned with the exception of rough stock on riding arm during event.
- Cowboy hats are optional, NO ball caps.
- Boots (peanuts optional)
PEANUT CONTESTANT (0-5)
- (MANDATORY) Check in: 7:30AM – 8:30AM
- You may check in at any time within the hour. If your contestant is entered in the lead Line barrels you WILL need to provide a copy of a current coggins papers for the horse he/she is riding.
- You will check in at the table underneath the pavilion.
- REMINDER STICK HORSE CONTESTANTS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN STICK HORSE.
- (MANDATORY) GRAND ENTRY: All contestants must meet underneath the announcers stand at 8:40AM to line up for the Grand Entry that will begin at 8:45AM.
- Awards will be done IN THE ARENA following the completion of the mutton bustin.
- The ONLY Contestants that will receive awards will be 1st-5th place in each event as well as the All Around Boy & Girl.
- (MANDATORY) Each Contestant will be required to wear the back number which will be in their check in packet.
- BE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ORDER OF EVENTS. YOUR CHILDS NAME WILL ONLY BE CALLED 3 TIME. PAY ATTENTION AND BE READY WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN.
MUTTON BUSTIN (PEANUT)
- If you are mutton bustin but not competing in the other Peanut events, you need to be in the arena ready to line up when the dummy roping begins. Come in thru the gate nearest the bucking chutes (southeast end).
- A vest and Helmet will be provided for you or you bring your own but please take a minute to read the rules so that we are able to keep the show moving. Spurs or riding backwards is not allowed. No rosin.
- Only 12 (TWELVE) mutton busters will advance to the big show. (6 will ride Thursday Oct. 16th, 6 will ride Friday Oct. 17th, and the top three from each night will advance to the short round Saturday Oct. 18th) SUBJECT TO CHANGE
- If your child advances to the rodeo, you will be contacted by the mutton bustin coordinator Wednesday October 8th after 4:30pm to give you the date that your child will ride.
Sub-Junior, Juniors, & Senior
- (MANDATORY) Check in: 7:30AM – 11:00AM
- Your start time will be tentatively 11:30PM. This may be adjusted depending on the completion of the Peanut Awards. Rough stock will NOT begin before 11:30am.
- You must bring a copy of your CURRENT coggins with you to check in. YOU NEED ONE FOR EVERY HORSE ON YOUR TRAILER.
- If you win an event your buckle will be available for pick following the completion of that event at the check in table.
- Checks will also be available to pick up following each event at the check in table. YOU MUST SIGN FOR YOUR CHECK.
- All Around Awards will be done following the completion of the team roping under the pavilion. We ask that if your child is in the running for the all-around that you PLEASE stick around in the instance that they do win we are able to get pictures of them with their awards.
